Samsung’s One UI 8.5 update brings back Galaxy AI features on the Galaxy S25 in South Korea.
Samsung is now releasing a new One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series in South Korea. The release is based on firmware version S938NKSUACZF1 and arrives after the initial One UI 8.5 rollout that started in May. This release has functional changes related to our Galaxy AI Features, unlike the normal Security Patch. According to early reports, it brings back several tools that mysteriously went missing from the initial stable rollout.
At the initial phase of their new One UI 8.5 support list, Samsung originally included the Galaxy S25. However, the device did not receive any of the AI features upon release. Could this update be a response to fill those gaps? Samsung has yet to provide a timeline for the global rollout of other regions.
AI-Powered Features Make a Comeback for Galaxy S25 Devices
The update includes three major AI features for the Galaxy S25 lineup. These are Prioritize Notifications, Summarize Notifications, and File Summaries. The expectation for the three features had arisen in earlier iterations of One UI 8.5, but they did not appear in the first release build. The release broadens the Galaxy AI experience on Samsung’s flagship device markedly.
Prioritize Notifications: It brings some essential alerts to the top of the notification panel. This allows users to pay attention to important messages more quickly. Notifications. Another feature lets me reduce long stacks of message threads to shorter, readable summaries. All these features seek to enhance Notification management and minimize clutter.
File Summaries Expand Productivity Features
The third one, File Summaries, brings document processing to the Galaxy S25 in a full swing with AI. Limited Rollout and Regional Availability
Currently, this new update is available only in South Korea. The update has not yet been made available to users in other countries such as the United States and Europe. Samsung is known to push out updates in waves, depending on the region and carrier approval. That means it could take a little while before it’s available worldwide.
Users can manually search for the update via Settings and Software update. However, the update will only show if it has been switched on for their region. There is no official global release timetable for Samsung. A broader launch should be on the way in the next few weeks.
Additional Features Still Missing
Most of the features rumored to come with One UI 8.5 appear not to be included in this update. Other tools, ranging from Now Nudge to camera improvements, are still lacking. That indicates Samsung could roll the Galaxy AI features out in phases. A June build that mainly targets notifications and file-related enhancements
Previous leaks hinted at a more expansive AI toolkit for the Galaxy S25. But this rollout seems to suggest a far more incremental rollout. Samsung might be regionally testing features ahead of a more widespread rollout. The phased approach also helps ensure stability across devices and markets.
Samsung’s Expanding AI Strategy
